We use genomewide approaches to study emerging question in biology and biomedical sciences. Our focus is on data analysis and applying rigorous statistical criteria to inference in large datasets. We collaborate with a number of clinicians and laboratory researchers. As genomics has found its application in the study of genetic diseases and cancer, much of our interest in recent years has focused on identification of causative disease mutations and studying their downstream consequences. In particular, disease mutations affecting the epigenome have shifted our attention to the study of epigenetic dysregulation in disease, and epigenetic mechanisms controlling normal development. We also use genome editing techniques to validate and further study mechanistic insights in relevant cell culture systems.
